Egyptian Cotton
I move out of my mom’s house and into an apartment near my school on Friday. This is not the first time. In fact I have moved out and back into my mom’s house three times now. However this time I have to move out for good. My mom recently sold her house and plans to move in with her fiance. This kind of hinders my moving plans. I drive a Honda Accord. I love it and it drives so nicely…but it’s tiny. I have a tower of boxes in my bedroom that I look at every day and wonder how the hell I’m going to get them all into my car. I think I’ll just leave them behind and “forget” to label them so that they will just get moved to my mom’s new house.
After weeks of packing I decided to treat myself to new bedding. My little mermaid sheets just aren’t going to cut it anymore. I learned this after getting hopelessly taunted by a previous boyfriend. So today I went to Bed Bath and Beyond with my 20% off coupon in hand. I found a pretty lime green and pink reversible quilt for $32.00. Perfect! Now I just needed sheets. Well…do you have any idea how hard it is to match lime green and pink with sheets. Not to mention I’m a little princess and I like my sheets soft and silky. So I walk over to the sheets aisle. Let’s be honest here…I haven’t bought myself new sheets since I was like 12 (thus the Ariel themed bedding I currently have). Sheets are expensive. I found a set of pink striped sheets for $30.00. OK that’s a good price, but what’s the thread count? 250. Well now that will never do. I glanced over at the 600 thread count section, spotted a price tag reading $79.00, and sighed. I’m a poor college student. Perhaps I will have to learn to live without Egyptian Cotton. (In all honesty I have never owned Egyptian Cotton sheets but I plan to sometime in my life just to see what all the hype is about). So I bought my $30.00 250 thread count sheets. They are now in the washing machine with a large amount of fabric softener.
I hope one day I’m rich. One day I will have 1000 thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets.
